Place the broccoli on a rimmed baking sheet in a single even layer.
Drizzle with olive oil. sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss to coat. Make sure all the broccoli is fairly well coated but not drenched.
Roast for about 10 minutes and then toss and re-spread on the pan.
Bake another 10 minutes and toss again, watch for browned edges, once you see that pull the broccoli out of the oven, but you may need a little more time.
Once it's out of the oven, sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and serve.
