Jen's Baked French Toast

Serves: 6-8
- 1 loaf french bread or challah, cut into 1 inch slices
- 6 eggs
- 1½ cup milk
- 1 cup 1 teaspoon cream or evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
For the Topping - ½ cup butter - softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ walnuts (or pecans!)
- 1 tablespoon syrup
- dash of cinnamon
- Smear a 9x13 pan with soft butter.
- Arrange bread slices to fill pan.
- Combine eggs, milk, evaporated milk or cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over bread and refrigerate over night.
- Next morning:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine topping ingredietns and spread over bread. Bake 40 minutes.
- You can either serve it plain, with syrup or powdered sugar (it really doesn’t need any though!) or whipped cream.
