The Great Pots and Pans War

Whew! Busy week! Now that things are settling a bit, here I am. Finally sitting.

On Monday my dear friend Beccy came to visit! She has family up north from us a bit and friends here in town so that means I get to see her once in a while. Then best part is, her two boys sandwich Linus in age so they all had an amazing time playing together. There was a lot of legoing and popping guns and playing war with my pots, pans and mixing spoons. And I am just noticing that Seth has the lid to the enormous pot that our adult friend Seth left at our house the other night that I didn’t realize they were playing with and found all dinged up and slightly bent…. Whoops, obviously I was NOT paying attention. Fortunately Seth was very gracious about it. We are very fortunate to have people in our lives who love our kids and don’t mind the crazy things they sometimes do! Juliette was trying very hard to be involved with what the boys were doing and they were doing their best to ignore her just enough so she wasn’t part of it but not enough that either of us moms noticed and got after them.

Poor little thing.

Beccy and I got quite a  bit of time to sit and chat and be friends in the same room again. It was so much fun and now that she is gone, I miss her.

It was funny though, I had a doctor appointment first thing monday morning and Beccy offered to watch the kids while I went. Awesome, so we coordinated that, but knowing I was going to have to pretty much run out the door when she got here, I wanted to warn Linus about what was going on and to behave himself. He needs that. So then he starts going on about how he and Seth and Gavin are going to play a game. It’s a boy game, so only boys can play and you can only have 3 players, so Juliette can’t play. Ha! Nice try buddy. I informed him that just because I was going to be gone did NOT mean he could exclude Juliette and I also informed him that Miss Beccy is stricter than I am and he would certainly not be getting away with it so not to even try. Well, then I forgot about it and whisked myself out the door when she got here, as painful as that was, and sure enough. He still tried.

And Miss Beccy got wind of it and put a stop to it.

Just like I told him she would.
