Strawberry Lemonade by the Glass

Share

Strawberry LemonadeSo I wasn’t really planning on posting this recipe when I took the pictures. I really was just thinking I should update my header to something summery and was trying to come up with something quick and easy that I had on hand and that wouldn’t totally thwart all the efforts I am making towards loosing the baby weight.

Then I tasted it.

I mean I hated for it to go to waste.

It was SO good. I love homemade lemonade but I had never tried making strawberry lemonade for whatever reason, I should have ’cause it’s not hard and it is simply scrumptious.

I fell completely and utterly in love. So I decided I should post the recipe. I think next time I make it though I will use a more natural sweetener perhaps honey. I don’t use white sugar a lot for things (except cake and cookies – but whose trying to be healthy when it comes to those?) and since I thought I was just throwing this together for photographic purposes I figured it didn’t matter.

You could easily make this a pitcher recipe by just making a larger batch of course, which might be a good idea because you might want to drink a lot of this and then share it with your friends. That’s what my lovely husband does, people come over and he’ll offer something I’ve made and if they say no then he pretty much forces them to have some anyway. He loves sharing.

That’s a warning to you if you come to our house for any reason or for no reason at all. If Jeremiah offers food or drink to you, you may as well take some right off because eventually he will convince you take some.

And he will continue forcing it on you until whatever it is, is gone. So come hungry.

Anyway….

Strawberry lemonade…

Yummmmm!

Serves 1
Ingredients
3-4 medium strawberries, fresh or frozen and thawed
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 cup hot water
3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
3/4 cup cold water
ice

Preparation Instructions
1. Put the strawberries and sugar in a glass and either mash the strawberries against the side of the glass or use an immersion blender to blend them.

2. Add the hot water and stir until the sugar dissolves.

3. Add the lemon juice and cold water and then fill the glass the rest of the way with ice.

Enjoy!!
