How To Eat Leftover Cake.

Share

how to eat leftover cakeThis is very important information if you like to eat cake.

I love cake personally.

I didn’t used to though.

Until I was pregnant with Juliette. Dear sweet Juliette. Girls are made of sugar and spice right? So that’s what you crave? Well, I did. All I wanted to eat while I was pregnant with her was cake, brownies, doughnuts and subway sandwiches.

The problem with these cravings, other than the obvious fact that they are SO bad for you, was that I had gestational diabetes.

So LAME.

Anyway, so I have this theory that since I wasn’t able to properly satisfy my pregnancy craving that I will forever crave those things.

So I still love cake.

A lot.

The other night Jeremiah went to a retirement party for a co-worker and brought some of the leftover cake home for me. Actually he brought a lot of cake home for me.

The problem with leftover cake at high altitude is it dries out super fast if not properly packaged. So by the time the party ended and he brought home the cake for me, the edges were severely dried out. Blech!

So I stuck it on the counter to deal with later.

Now. What I am about to tell you is very important so please read very. carefully.

Do not – I repeat – DO NOT eat the edges. You have to just dive right into the center of the cake and eat to the inside edges.

I would have photographed an example for you, but I was busy eating and couldn’t stop myself long enough to pick up my camera. Plus the light is really bad right now cause there’s a thunderstorm outside….

But I am sure from the end result picture above, that was shot after I was totally overloaded on sugar, will give a fairly decent example of what I am talking about.

Can I just say that cake was very tasty! The frosting, I don’t even know what to say. It was different and very addicting and I loved it.

On top of having this delicious confection brought to me, I have been practicing making cupcakes because I am going to be making about 200 or so for my sister-in-law’s wedding in July and I don’t quite have my chocolate recipe how I want it yet.

We pretty much have cake coming out of our ears at the moment.

And I like it.

I love cake.

And chocolate.

And chocolate cake.
