Getting Into the Christmas Spirit

Share

I LOVE Christmas! For so many reasons. I love the lights, the smells, the cold, the decorations, the comfort food – Oh how I love comfort food! But I also love Jesus. In our family we do Advent for the month of December. We started this tradition because of my friend Beccy, who I have mentioned before. She grew up doing it and it is something she loves and looks forward to every year because it was a very special time she got to spend with her family. She now celebrates Advent with her husband and little boys and when I had Linus she gave me a copy of the Advent Jesse Tree.

We have done it every year since and loved it. It starts with creation and goes through the birth of Christ. It has a scripture reading and a story that you do every night as a family and we also like to sing Christmas Carols. This year I have some little ornaments that correlate to the stories so every night the kids will get to put a new ornament on our little tree.

So I got the Christmas decorations out this weekend because I love decorating for Christmas, even though we will be out of town for the holidays, and so we would have a tree to put our ornaments on until we go to Nana’s house, then we will put them on HER tree 🙂
